Rocket Partners consultants are passionate about solving complex technology challenges for our clients and harnessing the power of the cloud to accelerate creative solutions.
We are looking for an experienced senior cloud developer to join our growing team of experts. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of AWS cloud development experience in Java and have a current AWS accreditation.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable software modules
- Use AWS APIs to create cloud native software solutions
- Create automated unit and integration tests
- Deploy, run, and monitor AWS production systems
- Participate in requirements meetings, architecture reviews and other technical discussions
- Work as part of a highly collaborative agile team
Requirements:
Up and down the tech stack, this is a hands-on position that requires passion and curiosity. You must have senior developer expertise with the majority of the following:
- Aurora, RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift
- ECS, Fargate, Lambda, Kubernetes
- ElasticCache, Elasticsearch
- ALB, API Gateway, CloudWatch, CodeDeploy
- 5+ years and current daily use of Java OR Node.js
- 3+ years of experience and regular use of SQL
- Demonstrated ability to design and build end to end cloud native solutions
- Expert level understanding of design patterns and algorithmic concepts and software engineering best practices

- Ability to initiate and complete projects with minimal direct supervision
- An eagerness to learn new things and teach what you know
- Kindness, patience, clear communication and a 100% lean in attitude under pressure are always required.
Education Requirements:
- Degree in Math or Computer Science or equivalent
Nice to Have:
- Retail technology experience including POS integration, inventory management, and loyalty program design.
